Painted Aisle Runner

Here are Step-by-Step instructions to paint your very own monogrammed asle runner!

**This only took me about an hour & a half - it may take more or less though depending on the intricacy of the design**

Necessary Supplies:

-Asle Runner (These directions work best with thinner fabrics.  If you want a heavier fabric, you might want to consider using a stencil or projector to trace your design before painting.
- Acrylic paint in the colors of your wedding. (I don't suggest white as it may be hard to see on a white asle runner)
- A thin paint brush, sort of rounded at the end though.  Not too pointy, not too long & definatly medium to small.
- A computer & printer & paper
- Scotch tape

Step 1.  Use a word processing program to print the monogram.  Play with the font sizes to get it to the size you want (usually to the size of a full sheet of computer paper for the largest letter.

Step 2. Print out the rest of the monogram (if there is more, like a date, names etc.) and lay them out the way you want them to be painted.

Once you know the order, tape the papers to the table so they cannot move.

Step 3. Lay your asle runner over the papers, and line it up the way you want it to be painted in accordance to the edges of the asle runner.

Once it's where you want it, use scotch tape to keep it in position. (I suggest scotch because it's less agressive when removing it)

6. Start with painting the LIGHTEST colors first - that way your darker colors won't bleed through them. All you do is trace the print out with the paint - no stenciling, no projector tracing!

7. Once you have all of your colors painted, go through and touch up any spots where the printer ink from the papers might have bled through.

8. Once you're done - let it dry & then peel it up from the paper.  It might stick a little - but if it is dry it won't mess anything up.

Hope this helps everyone!  :-D
