Often considered the most romantic of the Hawaiian islands, Maui is home to the largest dormant volcano in the world, Haleakala Crater, as well as hidden beaches, lush forests, historic churches, art galleries, and, of course, beautiful waters. It’s also the only island to be named after a god, and you’ll see why when you step foot onto Maui. Check out our top locations below for tying the knot on Hawaii’s “Valley Isle.”
BEACHES + PARKS
Kahekili Beach Park
Named after the last king of Maui, this long and sandy beach is ideal for those who want a beach wedding without having to step one single toe into the sand. Why? There’s a vast lawn where you can exchange your “I Dos” instead. And, a windbreak protects the air from aggravating afternoon winds. There’s also a pavilion, restrooms, a large paved parking lot, and BBQ grills, plus it’s free! Great for sunset ceremonies.
Location: Take Highway 30 north from Lahaina toward Ka'anapali. Just past Mile Marker 25, turn left on Kai Ala Drive to Kahekili Beach Park.
Just a half mile from Lahaina, Laniupoko is a lovely and lush grassy beach park featuring palm trees, picnic tables, BBQ facilities, and restrooms. From the picnic area, there’s a terrific view of the neighboring islands of Kaho'olawe (an uninhabited bird sanctuary) and Lanai.
Location: Located along the Lahaina Coast off of Highway 30, south of Puamana Beach Park, and before Kulanaokala'i Beach.
If you’re dreaming of an amazing sunset wedding and panoramic views, Makena Cove’s white sands and black lava rock coves will fulfill your fantasy. Sunsets are spectacular, especially during the winter, and afford views of Molokini, the sunken crater island. Best for up to 10 guests.
Location: Located past Big Beach in Makena, between two residences.
